The comprehensive race guide will answer many of your race weekend and race day questions. You will receive a digital copy in your pre-race emails.

What time does the race start?

The Early Bird will begin at 7:30 AM. After all, you know what they say about the Early Bird…

What is the minimum pace and time limit?

City permits limit the race time to a 3.5-hour time limit. The course will be closed at a 20:00 minute per mile pace and the finish line will remain open until 11:00 a.m. (assuming last runners start at 7:40 a.m.). No race services, including medical, aid stations or traffic control are available beyond this pace. Athletes must cross the finish line by 11:00 a.m. in order to be considered official finishers.

Is there a Packet Pickup & Run Expo?

Please note, Packet Pickup will also be available at the start line on race day for those runners that cannot attend make it to Early Packet Pickup. If you must pick up your packet on race day, be sure to arrive at least 1 hour prior to race time to give yourself plenty of time to park, pick up your packet and get to the start line.

Race packets will not be mailed.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

What am I getting for my entry fee?

Besides completing one of the coolest 10 Mile runs around, each runner will receive an official Early Bird long sleeve shirt, a custom finisher’s medal #EarnYourWorm, chip timed results, free professional race photos, brunch, mimosas, coffee and 10+ motivation stations on the course! Shake a leg and get registered!

Is there a minimum age requirement for the run?

You must be 8 years of age on race day to take part in the Early Bird Run. A parent or guardian must sign the waiver at packet pickup on your behalf if you are 19 or younger.

How do I get my results?

Online results will be posted to here immediately following the event. You’ll also get a post-race email with links to results, photos and more!

How many runners will there be? Is there a cap?

The Early Bird Run will play host to 2,000 runners, making the event one of the largest running events in Omaha. Get the Lead Out, this event will sell out extremely fast!

Can I run with a baby stroller or my pet?

Make this a part of your training plan, but not a part of race day. Strollers and pets are not allowed due to safety considerations as well as a narrow course in certain areas.

Do you offer refunds? Can I transfer or sell my race bib?

By registering for the Early Bird, you are accepting the risk of losing your registration fee in the event that you are unable to participate due to unforeseen time conflict, injury, illness, weather related event cancellation or any other circumstance or event cancellation.

I agree that Pink Gorilla Events reserves the right to cancel the Event in the event of extreme weather (including, but not limited to, heat, tornadoes, earthquakes, fires, storms, lightning and floods), accidents, acts of war or terrorism, military conflicts or riots or for any reason that, in Pink Gorilla Events discretion, will protect the safety and security of Event participants and spectators. In the event of such cancellation, there will be no refund of my registration fee. 

Cancellations, Refunds, Transfers & Deferrals: Entry fees are non-refundable and race numbers and entries cannot be transferred to another person or deferred to another year. Sorry, no exceptions. You may not give or sell your race number to another individual. The entry fee for this year’s Event cannot be deferred to next year’s Event for any reason. In other words, once an athlete’s entry fee has been paid, they will not receive a refund if they cannot participate. Failure to comply will result in disqualification from the current Event and a ban for the following year. Weather or Dangerous Conditions Cancellation: The Event will be held in most weather conditions and cancellation is unlikely. However, due to adverse or otherwise dangerous conditions, the Event may be altered or cancelled. In the event of cancellation under such circumstances, refunds will not be issued. Route Alterations: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Event route may be altered at any time and the final Event route may differ than the Event route published at time of registration. In the event of route alteration, refunds will not be issued.

 

THE ROUTE

Where can I find a route map?

You can check out the route map in all its glory here! The route is subject to minor changes, but this should give you a good idea of the fun you will encounter along the way.

Where is the start line? Where is the start line parking?

Rise & Shine! The start and finish will be located inside Walnut Grove Park located at 15050 Q St, Omaha, NE 68137. No Parking will be available in the park. All runners will park in designated runner parking areas at Millard South High School. Please follow the instruction of our awesome volunteers when parking and safely crossing Q St. More information can be found in our parking map.

Will there be a gear check?

Yes! Gear check will be available at the start/finish line. Your items will be securely stored at Walnut Grove while you #EarnYourWorm. You must have your race bib to claim your race bag. More information can be found in our start map.

What streets will be closed in Omaha?

The course will close one lane of Westbound Q St and both lanes of 156th St starting at 7 AM.

Will you have aid stations, medical assistance, water and toilets on the course?

Yes, yes, yes and yes–all of the above. We are committed to all of your early morning bodily needs and functions! We are also committed to providing one of them most exciting 10 mile runs you have ever seen with plenty of motivation stations along the route. For exact locations, check out the course map.

Can I wear headphones or rock out with my iPod?

We encourage everyone to leave their music at home and live in the moment. There will be so much to see and hear, you won’t want to miss out, plus it’s safer for everyone if we have our ears open. If you must run with music, please keep the volume low or run with Safe Speakers.

Where can my adoring fans watch?

As your runners make their way to morning glory, fandom is strongly encouraged along the whole route, but the party will be swinging the loudest and proudest at one of the designated Cheer Stations. This is where all the action will be and where friends and family can most easily access their route that loops Lake Zorinsky. Exact Cheer Station locations are shown on our interactive map and will also be displayed in our race guide. All fans are encouraged to join their runners just beyond the finish line for brunch at the finish festival. Fans wishing to eat brunch with their runners are encouraged to purchase Spectator Food Tickets ahead of time as these will NOT be available on race day!

AFTER THE RACE

I was not able to run, can you mail me my packet?

We can ship you your packet, shirt, runner gift or pre-ordered items upon request, but you must cover the cost of shipping.

I was not able to exchange my shirt on race day, can I exchange via mail?

We can exchange your shirt upon request, but you must cover the cost of shipping.

Where will race photos be posted?

Course and photo booth photos will be sent via email, posted to Facebook and will also live here.

How do I get my award?

Award winners should plan to attend the award ceremony following the race. If you do not attend the award ceremony, your gift certificate will be mailed to you. Awards can be shipped upon request, but you must cover the cost of shipping.
